Three Reasons why Public Transit is the Key to Happiness
We've been programmed to believe that you need a vehicle in order to get to and from work and to other destinations. Is this true? Certainly not!
I've always been a fan of taking public transit where ever I go because of the following three reasons:
- I saved a ton of money by taking a bus, Uber, or train. I learned this habit while on tour last year to 39 states and 88 cities. Being on tour encouraged me to come up with creative ways to save money since my budget was substantially a smaller amount each month than my corporate salary.
- I made a lot of friends while taking public transportation. One of my longtime friends, Kole Davis of K.D. Music Consulting and I met on the metro train in Atlanta, GA in 2009. Since then, we both have grown to be close friends and support one another in our business endeavors.
- I was able to spend time working on my laptop, reading a book or eating a meal. All of these actions, I would not be able to do if I was driving my own car.
Depending on where you are geographically, I challenge you to take the local bus, taxi and/or metro train for 7 days straight. You might actually love it!
